NECKFACE
This is the first episode where we venture off into non-pro skater land--it's about that graffiti artist called Neckface. If you live near New York, I'm sure you've seen his work all over the place. Neckface is your basic idiot-savant, meaning I still haven't figured out whether he's retarded or a genius. He is always being a complete weirdo and talking to himself.
Though I'm really happy to have him on the show, I'm sure this will be a hated episode. Graffiti writers hate Neckface because of how big he's gotten, and probably most skaters hate him. I think people are jealous of his success. Well, I hope you enjoy meeting Neckface, and I hope he doesn't go to jail because of me.

Neckface aside, O'Dell's absolutely convinced that any criticisms againts his friends are because of everyone's undying, blanket jealousy of their free-wheeling lifestyles. I'm sure this holds true for some, but overall...c'mon guy. If anything, 'having fun' is the group's universal strength.

graffiti is what it is, the art side of it cant really be criticized. its just some art shit. but, there are a million dudes emptying cans on walls and whatever else. Its just that this guy is in the all the mags and videos and EL'd, and people dont care about this shit really. if they get told this is good shit, theyll bite.

All I gotta say is his last comment is stupid.. because what we learn in school when we're young is COMPLETE bullshit and that's gonna get you nowhere in life. At least get your sorry ass through college. Other than that, this episode was awesome. Great job. I loved the animations over his face.

neckface talking about himself = not so much. it's annoying to hear him say shit like "eveybody hates me" when he's doing ltd. shoes for vans, boards for baker, selling t-shirts, has a part in the krooked video, etc. this means at least a few thousand people LIKE you, thus not "everybody" hates you. it's sort of the equivalent of a pretty girl saying "i'm uuuugly."

I LOVE EPICLY LATERD. I've been both a skateboarder and artist for as long as I can remember, and everytime I get an email saying "new epicly laterd" Im overcome with joy! I loved this neckface episode, anyone in the skateboard world has heard of him and he is a paradigm case of love/hate art. I think most skateboarders love him because they respect the Do it yourself, no lessons approach to anything. great job, keep them coming

yeah, neckface is most likely mexican. i heard he's from stockton, which besides pacific college frat boys is mostly all mexicans. and young stephen malkmus. vice should hire a psychic to watch this and then describe to a sketch artist what she thinks he looks like. that would be funny if she gets it dead on and o'dells like, cut the video.

Its not that people hate on neckface because he is famous. they hate on him because he is famous and he sucks. all he does is draw weird monster things, and write weird frases that arnt funny or cool or anything, i dont mean to hate, but i have seen a lot of his stuff and i just dont like him. im sure he could be a cool dude, but his work does not strike me as "good"

Thought it was pretty cool. Reminded me of a lot of the taggers I know. He's shit about making people laugh with his stuff was cool. And Rip-Tide Rush is the best flavor of Gatorade.
