The controversy surrounding Fucked Up's performance on MTV Live rages on. The show's Senior Producer just posted a comment on our blog that discredits the band's version of events: "In no way shape or form was Fucked Up banned from MTV... We fucking loved it so much we put the performance up everywhere. I would like to see any other station have the balls to have them on."
HERE'S THE ORIGINAL POST WE PUT UP YESTERDAY ...
Our pals Fucked up got in a spot of bother after playing a gig for MTV Canada with Henry Rollins last week.
VICE: So, Mike, what happened?
Mike Haliechuck (guitars): They asked us to play, we showed up and so did like 250 other people.
The video looks fun.
Well, we started playing and people started going made and slam dancing and ect. throwing monitors and pulling grates off the walls.
What's the damage?
MTV won't show it to anybody and we ended up doing $2000 in damages.
Nice work.
Thanks.
Thanks. Yawn.

how can you be banned if it's a live performance and it's also featured on their website and it was on the best of show at the end of the week? thats a really passive way to ban someone.

Wow! Will Sasso went a little nuts post-Mad TV.

That's bullshit. Knowing Canada, these assholes were probably banned because their lead singer looks like a skinhead.

Just so you know. I am the senior producer at MTV Live and in no way shape or form was Fucked Up banned from MTV. I'm not sure what Mike is talking about but, as 'confused' has pointed out, we fucking loved it so much we put the performance up everywhere. I would like to see any other station have the balls to have them on.
