NEW YORK - HEAVY METAL IN BAGHDAD IN THEATERS
Holy shit, at the end of this week Heavy Metal in Baghdad becomes an actual movie. Like the kind you go to see at a theater after getting stoned at the edge of the parking lot and is also playing a bunch of crap like Iron Man and Ghost. OK, not quite that much of a movie, but movie enough for us. Movie enough to make us proud. Friday, the feature-length version of Vice/VBS's five-year-long investigation into the lives of Iraq's best metal band begins a limited theatrical release in New York and LA. Click here for the details, and for all of you who live somewhere bogus like Austin or Seattle, for once you're in luck. Tomorrow night and this weekend we are hosting screenings in each of these cultureless cesspools. You're welcome.
Yo. Always diggin' what you guys do. Much respect.
I wanted to share something special with you as well and hope that if you think it's worthy, you would what you would do for any worthy content.

you know I really wanted to see heavy metal in baghdad...but it only played a week - what is that, a ploy to try to get us to buy the dvd...I was really looking forward to it, but because of that I will definitely not buy the dvd...too bad the Iraqi band Carrasicuda has to suffer b/c VICE wants to withold and make money...
