VICE PICS - MAGGIE LEE VISITS ALLSTON

Hello everyone! I just went on a 24-hour trip to Allston, MA, for a show I had stuff in. It was my first time out of the NY/NJ area and venturing into a state unknown in years. Here are some pictures.
MAGGIE LEE

The subway was so clean. Gross!

Oh hey. Isai curated an art show and asked me to be in it. Sick!

I have a few zines left if you want one. They're $5.

Scott Keightley had a pile of weird shit on the floor.

Where are your parents? It's 8 o'clock. Shouldn't you be in bed?

All the way to the Butcher shop, home to many men. Kinda.

Legendary Nerf gun fight. Wish we were there.

I don't know who this is, but I really like this guy. Here he is again, but closer.

Joey is a friend I grew up talking to on AIM every night when I was 14. He almost died due to epilepsy triggered by drugs and EUU performances (25 seizures, along with comas, spinal taps, and one tracheotomy).

Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla blabla.

Cuddle sesh with Lily. It was so cold we both had to sleep with coats on.

OK, Mark and I are over this shit. Let's go home.

i like maggie lee.

LEARN HOW TO USE YOUR DAMN CAMERA MAGGIE!!!! LEARN COMPOSITION AND FORM THEN SHOW YOUR PICTURES. AND I KNOW THESE ARE SNAPSHOTS OF WHATEVER BUT IF YOU WERE ANY GOOD AT PHOTOGRAPHY YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS MUCH MORE INTERESTING, THERE NOT GOING FOR WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO GO FOR WHICH IS LETTING PEOPLE LIVE vicariously THROUGH YOU, ITS NOT WORKING AND IM ONLY WRITING THIS BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KNOW IT AND VICE ISN'T GOING TO SUPPORT YOU FOREVER.

Ugh. Allston. Could actually be worse than Williamsburg/Bushwick. Allston hipsters are ... like Williamsburg hipsters, but with less ambition.

Anyone want to mention the artwork, that was curated by Isai?
Yeah sure, it's great commenting on the fun Maggie had being there. Seems like a great scene.
Yes the photos seem a little shitting for documenting the event, but please consider that it fits in with our culture, our youth, our fun, and how we can easily access a camera and take quick unexpected or expected snaps of people, a good time and so forth. It the digital, so this is fine, makes it more real and there for me looking at this post.
But really, what did anyone think of the space the show was in and the art work? Is it something you go and see after viewing what Maggie put up? I'd like to know, because this is what's going on right now, this is what's becoming hot in the art scene, this is what it is. Right?
It's seems that the environments are becoming more a social party and art work posted up on the wall or set up on the floor, how ever the presentation is presented. So here are people drinking, smoking, being loud, in a house full of art. What do you think about that? Isn't that great people are getting together viewing work outside of a gallery and still having a good time? There is a growing revolution happening against galleries, and the expense of them and the limitations. With someone like Isai putting together a show and letting the space be his house really changes the work and how it's viewed by the viwers, it changes the way people talk about the work, its more comfortable right or is it not? I'm going to repeat myself one last time. It's like going to another party at someone's house but there is duck taping and thumb taking pencil drawings, photographs, a laid out sculpture on the ground, now a house is a gallery. What do you think about that?

I disagree, the fundamental lack of insight that starsawdust shared is better suited to Art in America.

never said that it was bad, just asked for what you thought instead of commenting 'oh i fucking love maggie' fuck that! I don't care, because I had a friend in the show and he is always asking what I thought, and I wanted people who viewed these pictures to say something as well.
If people are doing shows like this, which is great, and to keep it up. I fucking hate galleries to an extent, so this should be talked about as well, I want more shows in houses. This is what's happening, shows are happening in houses and it's great, its an opportunity to see the work. I wasn't criticizing any of the work. William Balls photograph is a good photograph great concerns and issue pertaining to idenity and reliogious rituals, that create this image is attention grabbing, thought out, and very shocking. Don't you love Terrance Koh, I do and you all probably do too, he is on art talk vbs for crying out, he is the new shit. And I mention ball because i know him personally, bia's I had a friend in the show, why would i hate it, i'm happy for him. I liked it, but that comment was written to only get you to talk about it. Shove that up your asses, and stop being such bad ass punks talking shit you all suck being mad all the time and think that art in America is bad and such, get a grip, this and that have to accept it all or know more about it, do you even it read highly doubt it. I don't like art forfourm by the way.
People get to uptight, isn't the world about opinions, nothing is going to get done or thought about if we run away from it completely.
Ass holes, really!
PS: shit on the floor, I liked that too!
