O'Dell, this is soo effin sophomoric you should be ashamed.
Kinda like this, when you first start producing music, and you play those precious first tracks. You're stoked, and think they're the shit. Then you get it in front of people who are either A. Ass kissing tools who will never be honest with you, or B. too fucking nice to tell you it sucks.
Then C. occurs, and you show it to professionals and people with taste, who are not 'tarded 15 year old boarder groaning to be like you, shallow.
Anyways, peer here, this sucks, even for a first attempt. Your syncopated edits are meaningless. Your content is meaningless. Way to paint a skaters love story, and actually loose it with shitty editing. At least sync the old concert footage with the rhythm, that would of been a classic move. Or double time it to the rhythm.
I know you work for VICE and have a skate show and shit. But sitting in the editing booth at a company that edits to a moronic formulaic fashion is not going to help your creative abilities. It only enables you to think inside the shitty Corporate MTV VICE Brand box.

Peers generally don't bash each other like this.
You don't "loose" something. You either "lose" it (what you were no doubt attempting to say) or "loosen" it (like your shoelaces, on in your case, maybe your grip on reality).
Syncing live footage to studio recordings is lame. This alone makes me highly suspect of your claims of being a peer.

Syncing is amateur, I guess. I don't think so tool. It provides role and perspective. if you're going to go offbeat, polyrhythmic, whatever, at least have a strategy.
what was the point of this video. dreamy shots, random clips of old concerts. where is the visual story telling.
