Today we meet William Chambers, 29, a milliner from Glasgow
William Chambers gained a first-class honours degree in textile design at the Scottish College of Textiles in 2002 and set up William Chambers Millinery in 2007. William cites birds and cages as his inspiration, and this is evident in the shape, texture and detailing in his work. William has quickly become a sought-after milliner within Scotland and further afield. He was a nominee in the Scottish Fashion Awards 2008 (Accessory Designer of the Year) and recently featured in The List magazine’s Style Issue as one of “the hottest young designers in the country”, alongside Christopher Kane. In September 2008 he designed hats for Glasgow fashion label Olanic for their Spring/Summer 09 debut collection at London Fashion Week.

Today we meet Luke Drozd, 27, an artist from London.
London-based Luke Drozd is a fine artist focused on creating a body of work that is visceral, rich and varied. He studied a BA in Fine Art at Leeds Metropolitan University and is currently studying towards a Masters in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. His practice takes in a multitude of artistic disciplines including fine art painting and drawing, illustration, performance and ephemeral works. His solo work has been exhibited internationally at the closing party for the Scottish Pavilion, the Venice Biennale, Scotland’s Six Cities Design Festival, the 2007 Jerwood Drawing Prize and shows with Dazed and Confused Magazine. His client-based work ranges from poster design for DIY bands to Warner Brothers Records.

Today we meet Hattie Newman, 22, an animator from Bristol.
Hattie Newman is an illustrator, animator and set maker who hails from Bristol. She recently graduated with a first class degree in illustration at UWE in Bristol. While she was there she got frustrated with the lack of interaction between courses which led her to co-found an open collective called ‘The Yellow Revolution’. Designed to explore, facilitate and showcase the potential of creative collaboration, the collective gave students opportunities to meet and work with others from different disciplines, as well as voice their opinions about the university. Last month Hattie took a leap of faith and moved to London where she has been freelancing as an illustrator and working with Bristol-based collective 'Hot Soup' on interactive projects.

Today we meet Ben Hughes, 22, a sculptor from London.
Ben Hughes was born in London then moved to Sussex after getting thrown out of school but returned to London to complete a foundation at Central St. Martins. He began making sculpture in his own time at home whilst learning how to weld at evening courses. Hoping to get a more professional understanding, he applied for a position at the esteemed Pangolin Foundry in Gloucestershire where he has been working since January 2007. Here, Hughes professionally does metalwork, casting bronze sculptures for different artists as well as sheet metal fabrication. After a day’s work is done he is allowed to create his own sculptures using The Pangolin Foundry’s facilities.

Today we meet Katie Patterson, 27, an artist from Glasgow.
Since graduating from the Slade School of Fine Art last year, Katie Paterson has had solo shows at the Matthew Bown Gallery, R O O M, and Modern Art Oxford, and spent a month ‘moongazing’ in Japan.
Her recent works include Earth-Moon-Earth, the transmission of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata to the moon and back - resulting in fragmented composition being transmitted on a self-playing grand piano and Vatnajökull - a live phone line to an Icelandic glacier. Both works were first presented at Paterson’s MFA degree show in 2007 and restaged at her acclaimed solo show at Modern Art Oxford this year...

Today we meet Liria Pristine, 28, a knitwear designer from London.
Liria Pristine graduated with a BA in Fashion Design with Knitwear from London's Central Saint Martins College. Her BA collection went on to the CSM Press Show 2007 and was later documented by Hilary Alexander at The Telegraph. A selection of pieces from her collection were selected to be exhibited in Alexandra Palace as part of the Knitted Textile Student Awards. .

two years old. Growing up in the wild fields of Hampshire, days were

Today we meet up with Andrew May, 24, a tattoo artist
from London.
Having a somewhat solitary childhood in Devon, Andrew May found escape through drawing. By the time he made it to A-levels he was focusing only on fine art and sculpture. When university time rolled around the opportunity opened to become a receptionist in a local tattoo parlour. He decided to take it, figuring that if it didn’t work out he could call it a gap year and head to uni.

Today we meet Markland Starkie, 27, a musician from Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Having grown up learning various instruments and classical music theory, Markland began experimenting in various bands, including noise-pop outfit Kaito. After moving to London, Markland began a series of home recordings of short songs from the heart that were more minimal in both volume and arrangement.
