DEAR VICE - MYSPACE IS RUINING OUR FAMILY

Dear Vice,
I teased my little brother a lot when he was younger. And even though he's grown up to hate me and now refuses to acknowledge my existence, it was worth it just to see the veins pop out of his neck when he cried and raged. It was so funny and he deserved it because he was really annoying. I enjoyed tormenting him and only stopped because he got bigger than me. If you forgot how funny furious younger brothers can be, here's a reminder.

DEAR DIARY - MYSPACE BOOK CLUB

Picture_1_4We didn't realize MySpace had its own book club/page, but apparently they do, and look who made it into this month's featured reads. That's right, our own Dear Diary, sandwiched right between Christopher Hitchens and the autobiography of the guy from Korn who became Christian (which is going to be amazing, PS). Check it out, their semi-literate commenters even put ours to shame.

NEW YORK - DEAR DIARY LAUNCH PARTY

Deardiary126Earlier this week we had a launch party for Lesley Arfin's new Dear Diary book at the Annex. It was like a Bat Mitzvah with more booze and less gefilte fish. Check out our photo blog to see what you missed or forgot to remember.

DEAR DIARY - OUT NOW

Deardiary1_2 Today is a very special day for us. Not only is it Prince's b-day, it is also the release date of Lesley Arfin's Dear Diary book by us. Unless you still need to get your copy (if you were smart, you would have pre-ordered one from here), we'd recommend staying away from book stores today as it is sure to be full-fledged pandemonium with people tearing at each other's hair and clothing, all duking it out over who gets to the display stand first. In honor of Dear Diary's publication, we have another installment of our trip with author Lesley Arfin and her pal Chloe Sevigny down Memory Lanesville, CT. Today we get to rifle through all of Chloe's childhood stuff and see her old teenage sneak-out route.

NEW YORK - DEAR DIARADIOARY

LesleyarfinIf you are reading this right now, which is impossible since I haven't posted it yet, then you have approximately 50 minutes to get yourself to a computer with speakers and a decent connection, maybe grab a snack or a coke or something, get yourself good and situated, and finally listen to Dear Diary authorina Lesley Arfin get interviewed on "Viva radio"...

Fucked Up at the Old Blue Last

Fuckedup_web2Our friends Fucked Up return to the Old Blue Last on Wednesday December 27. We love them so much we put out their single "Triumph Of Life" earlier this year. If you witnessed their previous show at our pub, then you know how amazing this band are live. Don't miss them. Did we mention how great they are?

DEAR DIARY - TV / SXSW / BREAKING UP

Img_8012_1This is my week so far...

1. Surreal Life-wise, we got a doozy of a season. Alexis Arquette is loud and annoying, the Smashmouth dude is all date rape and AIDS jokes (not in the good way), and the rest of them are just plain boring. Highlights include Tawney Kitaen being really fucking dumb, and Ce Ce DeVille just being a rad dude that you might consider bro-ing down with. Another stellar episode of The Sopranos, and ...
