4TH OF JULY IN YOUR MOUTH

Last week Black Lips released the Tijuana granero burner of a record, Los Valientes Del Mundo Nuevo and played an instore at Criminal Records in the boys' hometown of ATL. From what we hear, the show was everything you'd expect from a celebration for such a kick you up side the head and restore your spirit record. Check out a bit of "Boomerang" for Cole's interpretation of what a Release Day outfit should be. Then we've got video of set closer "M.I.A." from the back, and then from the front, where we can confirm Ian likes to be real close to the action. Thanks to the gathered brethren who shot the footage.
We know how we feel about Black Lips, but every once in a while it feels kind of fuzzy to have our raging clue stroked by the outside world. Especially when Hunter S. Thompson's old stomping ground says stuff like, "Black Lips are one of the best live bands in America" and Ye Olde Fork calls the record "that rare live album that's not just different enough from the studio records to justify its release, but possibly all that beginners and dilettantes need from the band." Well that just makes us feel like Marty on Oscar night.
Glad to see that the Lips and Deerhunter are getting their well-deserved national attention. All the Saints, another Atlanta band, is one you should definitely keep on your radar.

Matt is gay. All Saints is who you need to be paying attention to, not All The Saints.
